Introduction
Imagine your most prized possession, one of which you've had for as long as you can remember, as long as all of your ancestors can remember, was ripped away from you by a foreigner whom you've never seen before. Not only have you lost this prized object, you are not aware of its location and you have no reason to believe that you will get it back.
For centuries, the Ancient Egyptians went through this scenario involving countless artifacts that all had specific meanings relating to Egyptian culture. Although this mistreatment of artifacts is a problem world wide, Egypt has arguably seen the worst of it. To this day, Egypt still is missing some pieces of culture that are rightfully theirs. When did this start and why did it continue? These questions and more will be discussed in this website. |
